High-Tech Founders Fund (HTGF)

Eligible for application are start-ups and small businesses (no older than 3 years) from high-tech industries in the sense of the SME definition of the EU with a registered office or place of business in Germany.

The start-up must be growth-oriented and majority-owned by the management. The products, processes and scientific-technical services must have a high degree of innovation, significant competitive advantages and sustainable market opportunities.

The technology forms the core of the company. Its further development should be challenging and application-oriented, so that at least one prototype or proof of concept can be developed with the financing of the High-Tech Founders Fund. Technological know-how must be bound to the company, and intellectual property rights and intellectual property must be made available to the company without restriction and exclusively or brought into the company.

The High-Tech Founders Fund (HTGF) has been financing technology start-ups made in Germany since 2005. With expertise, entrepreneurial spirit and passion, the experienced team of investment managers accompanies the best companies on their way to the exit. The focus is on start-ups with growth potential from the areas of Digital Tech, Industrial Tech, Life Sciences, Chemistry and adjacent business fields.
The aim of the seed financing is to close the financing gap for newly founded technology start-ups and to create new jobs.

The financing conditions of the High-Tech Start-up Fund are flexibly and precisely tailored to the start-up. The fund invests in the seed round as a lead investor or together with partners up to €1 million. Equity is not necessary, but desired. A total of up to €3 million equity is available per company. If necessary, the High-Tech Start-up Fund provides management support through scouts and experts. Business angels and other investors are invited to participate as side investors in the financing.
