Companies eligible for funding include:

• Companies founded as a result of unemployment
• Companies led by women or people with a migration background
• Commercially oriented social enterprises
• Environmentally oriented companies
• Companies providing training
• Companies in the health and care sector
• Other companies upon request

Insufficient equity is often an obstacle for very small companies and entrepreneurs when accessing credit financing. To open better financing opportunities for such companies and increase their risk capacity, the Micro Mezzanine Fund was launched with a volume of 228 million euros, which is refinanced from funds from the ERP Special Fund (European Recovery Program) and the European Social Fund (ESF). All investments in the establishment of a new or continuation of an existing company are supported. Corporate succession financing or operational financing are also possible.

The funding is provided as a silent participation through the medium-sized participation companies, which are represented in all federal states. The maximum participation amount is €50,000 with a term of 10 years. For target group companies, the maximum participation amount is €150,000, with the initial funding limited to €75,000. Repayment begins in the 7th year in 3 equal annual installments.

• Result-independent remuneration: 8% p.a., payable quarterly in arrears; 6.5% p.a. for companies that have an especially good credit rating at the time of payment.
• One-time processing fee of 3.5% of the deposit, payable upon payment.
• Variable profit participation of up to 1.5% p.a. of the deposit. No security is required.
• Through the support of the European Social Fund by REACT-EU, the result-independent remuneration is reduced to 4% p.a. until 31.12.2023.
