The Federal Funding for Efficient Buildings - BEG for short - combines former funding programs for the promotion of energy efficiency and renewable energies in the building sector and supports, among other things, the use of new heating systems, the optimization of existing heating systems, measures on the building envelope and the use of optimized plant technology.
The BEG consists of three sub-programs:
- Federal Funding for Efficient Buildings - Residential Buildings (BEG WG)
- Federal Funding for Efficient Buildings - Non-Residential Buildings (BEG NWG)
- Federal Funding for Efficient Buildings - Individual Measures (BEG EM)
All measures on buildings that improve energy efficiency are eligible for funding. In addition, the specialist planning and construction supervision of the measures can be subsidized by energy efficiency experts. Certain (technical) requirements and restrictions apply to the BEG.
Update: The Federal Government has passed the second reform stage of the Federal Funding for Efficient Buildings - Individual Measures (BEG EM). Access to BEG EM is further facilitated, incentives for renovations and the efficiency of the program are further increased.
The eligibility for applications is extended to all investors (restrictions on owners, tenants and tenants are lifted). This avoids, among other things, waiting times due to administrative processes such as property transfers.
In the future, material costs for self-services will also be subsidized again. This responds to the shortage of craftsmen.
In the event of a heating defect, the rental costs for a provisional heating technology are subsidized in connection with a subsidized system for generating heat. The funding is limited to one year.
The installation of stationary fuel cell heating systems operated with green hydrogen or biomethane is subsidized.
