Federal funding for energy and resource efficiency in the economy (KfW product number 295)

• Domestic and foreign commercial companies and contractors,
• Municipal companies,
• Nacional companies,
• Freelancers,
• Non-profit applicants, provided they are economically active, with a location in Germany.

Funds are allocated for measures that significantly increase the electricity or heat efficiency and thus contribute to reducing energy consumption: from highly efficient standard components to complex system solutions. The investment must be in operation for at least 3 years. The costs necessary for the implementation of the measures are also eligible for funding.
Module 1 - Cross-cutting technologies
Replacement or purchase of highly efficient units

• Electric motors and drives
• Electrically driven pumps
• Fans
• Compressors and their higher-level control
• Heat exchangers for waste heat recovery or heat recovery
• Thermal insulation / insulation of industrial plants or plant components Module 2 - Process heat from renewable energies Provision of process heat from:
• Solar collector systems
• Biomass systems based on renewable raw materials, plant waste or sewage sludge
• Heat pumps, provided they use renewable heat sources.
• Highly efficient CHP systems based on the above technologies, without funding under the EEG and CHP Act
• Eligible as ancillary costs are also the costs for the measurement and data acquisition systems installed for performance monitoring and fault detection. Module 3 - Measuring, control and regulation technology, sensor technology and energy management software Purchase and installation of
• Systems for monitoring and efficient control of energy and material flows for integration into an energy or environmental management system
• Energy management software including training costs. Module 4 - Energy and resource-related optimization of plants and processes Suitable measures may include:
• Process and process changes that lead to energy and resource savings, in particular energy and resource efficient technologies as well as energy and resource-oriented optimizations of production processes
• Measures for the use of waste heat
• Measures to increase the energy and / or resource efficiency of plants for heat supply, cooling and ventilation, if they are used clearly and predominantly directly for production processes
• Measures for the energy and / or resource-efficient provision of process heat or cold
• Measures to avoid energy and / or resource losses in the production process Module 5 - Promotion of transformation concepts The aim of the funding is to support companies in planning and implementing their own transformation towards climate neutrality. Module 6 – Small Business Electrification
Promote electrification measures for small businesses

• Replacement of existing systems with new electrically operated systems
• Conversion of systems so that they can be operated with electrical energy

Credit amount:

• Up to €100 million per project
• Up to 100% of eligible investment costs. Duration: The following duration options are available to you with a minimum duration of 2 years:
• Up to 5 years with a maximum of 1 interest-free start-up year (5/1)
• Up to 10 years with a maximum of 2 interest-free start-up years (10/2)
• Up to 20 years with a maximum of 3 interest-free start-up years (20/3). Interest rate: The interest rate is fixed for a maximum of 10 years loan term. Your individual interest rate is determined by your financing partner based on your economic circumstances and the quality of your security. For information on terms and interest rates, please refer to the conditions overview. For loans with a term of more than 10 years, you will receive a prolongation offer from your financing partner in good time before the end of the interest rate binding period. Provision and disbursement:
• Call-up period: within 12 months of loan approval, in one sum or in partial amounts
• Provision: After 2 banking days and 6 months from loan approval, we charge 0.15% per month on non-withdrawn amounts.
• Disbursement: 100% of the approved amount. Repayment: During the interest-free start-up years, you only pay the interest on the disbursed loan amounts. After that, the repayment begins. You pay equal quarterly repayment installments plus interest on the outstanding loan amount. Early repayments are possible subject to payment of an early repayment compensation. Repayment subsidy: The repayment subsidy is calculated on the basis of eligible costs.
